Darkness.... the warmth of the womb... then blinding light and the cold floor rushing up to greet you. Being born never gets any easier.

“Welcome back Kielen”, a familiar voice chimed

Propping himself up on his elbows to peer around, KD knew exactly where and why he was lying in a pool of embryonic goo. What he didn't know was how long it was since he was here.

“I take it my contract is over?”

“Indeed, you even made it back early. You should note the payment has already been made”

Its not that a Capsuleer could “see” his current balance, but that he knew exactly what it was whenever he cared to think about it. The Neocom implants really made things a lot easier. For Kielen it was like waking up and finding you have grown a new limb, a one billion ISK limb.

Without opening his eyes, KD stumbled over to the nearby shower. The location of everything in the room was burned into his memory from the countless times he had visited.

The agent moved into view, Sistran Hednur, a higherup with the Republic Fleet. “You will also notice a few additions to your memory, and one rather large hole. We revived you a few times so that your associates wouldn't suspect that you were missing. It was risky but half the militia saw you fight that day. You cant pay for that kind of press”

A flash of a fleet of amarrian battleships warping away leaving a single member behind to his fate. Surprise, as the same fleet dropped from warp just 200 kilometres away and targeted the Assault Ship that was Kielen. Victory, as the lone target of a scrambler exploded in a fireworks display worth 500 million isk. Fear, as the little frigate entered warp, tattered armor from numerous laser blasts littering space behind it.

“I see now why the Empires outlawed having two clones operational at the same time. These arnt my memories, and yet I know it was me experiencing them. Strange experience even for one of us.”

“You will also notice a few new skillbooks have been uploaded to your memory. Your due for a neural remap as well but we didn't know how it would effect you. Even tho the technology is a hundred years old its still risky. Speaking of technology, get changed and ill introduce you to your new toy” Sistran said, passing a towel.

Twenty minutes later Kielen was standing on his private dock completely in love. Even tho he knew he had never flown this ship, he could feel the knowledge of its operation.

A Loki class Strategic Cruiser was docked where his old Wolf used to be. The deck crew were loading projectile rounds into the special cartridges that Kielen knew were used in this type of vessel. Unlike other craft that were retro-fitted for capsuleer operation, A strategic Cruiser had no need of additional crew. Once docked with his pod, this ship would BE Kielen Dres. There would be no people scurrying around inside him, loading his guns and repairing his systems. He would be a true god, in direct control of everything on board instead of having the inefficiencies of humanity as a proxy to his commands!

“Sistran you slaver, how much do I owe you for THIS?!”

“Nothing, its partly the bonus for your fine work, and partly a gift from the Republic Fleet. But...” A smile came across Sistrans face,

“I do have an assignment for you...”
